HAMILTON hockey player Emily Johnston is set to feature on the national stage.
The talented 14-year-old will represent South Australia at the Under 15 Australian National Hockey Championships in Hobart over the next 10 days.
A Year 9 student at Hamilton Alexandra College, she plays for Hamilton College in the Division One women’s competition of the Glenelg Regional Hockey Association.
She also plays in the Lower South East Hockey Association with Portland’s Division One women’s team.
“I started hockey at the age of seven with the Coleraine Hockey Club,” Johnston told the Hamilton Spectator.
“I have had a few injuries that set me back a bit, but that’s made me more determined to keep trying.
“I have had knee problems in the past.”
But those problems are now well and truly behind her.
She has represented South West Victoria and South East of South Australia in zone teams at state championships.
