PORTLAND will be awash with fun and anticipation as the Portland Easter Saturday Fair tomorrow.
Percy Street from Henty to Julia streets will be closed to traffic and a sea of local traders, stalls, live music, children’s activities and even a visit from the Easter Bunny will fill the street with vibrant activity.
The Spectator Publishing Group general manager Gerard Lucas said the enthusiasm was encouraging.
“We are pleased from traders, as well as Portland Observer’s Rowena Punton and Councillor Anita Rank, who have made this event happen.”
Ms Punton said the event included many free activities and an awesome line-up of local musicians.
“It’s great to see so many businesses pull together to help us create a new event for Portland,” she said. “We have had a great response from traders in the block, and I would particularly like to thank Portland Aluminium, Westpac Bank, and Tutt Bryant Hire who have all been very generous with sponsorship of different aspects of the free activities. I hope the weather holds out and that pesky Easter bunny doesn’t get too wet.”
