THE Hamilton Hurricanes under 14 boys produced an outstanding performance at the 2014 Basketball Victoria Country Championships in Bendigo to claim the Division Three title.
Held over three days, 37 teams from across country Victoria competed for the four division titles.
Starting in a pool of five teams, the Hamilton boys played four games on the opening day.
In their first game against Maffra, the boys started slowly with Maffra gaining the advantage and Hamilton going down 24-36.
The second game against Wodonga was a very even encounter with neither team able to break clear, but Hamilton held on for a 40-38 win.
In the final two pool games, the Hamilton boys produced two strong victories against Wallan (63 -20) and Myrtleford (54-28).
Three wins from four games had Hamilton in a three-way tie for top spot in their pool, but with the lowest head-to-head percentage finished in third position to therefore place them in Division Three.
