GIPPSLAND based driver Peter Nicola outpaced and outdrove his rivals in the main event on Saturday night to take the win the Gartner’s Transports VSCF Victorian Super Sedan Championship at Western Speedway, Hamilton.
Nicola, whose last meeting at Hamilton had ended in woe, was in good form, taking two heat wins and a second placing to place him in good stead for the final grid.
Defending title holder Lachlan Onley, from NSW, had a win, a second and a third.
Dave Gartner took the first win in the heats, and then gained a third and a second.
The other heat wins went to Wayne Brims (NSW), who also gained a third, with Lucas Roberts taking a win and a second, Mick Nicola a second and third, Tasmanian Sam Hughes a third, Dave McKenzie a second, and Ash Bergmeier a second.
