HAMILTON residents opened their hearts and wallets and purses as well to raise more than $25,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Collection co-ordinator, John Colcott said while the total was down a couple of thousand dollars on last year, the community could be proud with its effort.
“We were down on doorknocker numbers on the day and a few of our regulars were unable to make it this year,” Mr Colcott said.
“You can only do what you can.
“Overall it was still a mighty team effort to raise what we did.”
