PORTLAND footballers Tom Templeton and Rowan Marshall have continued their rapid development when they were selected for the Vic Country squad for the AFL under 18 national championships.
The pair will now strive toward gaining selection into the final side, with the squad currently sitting at 50 players.
A match this week against Calder will play a large role in determining the composition of the final squad, with both Portland players hoping to survive another round of cuts and push for a spot on the final list.
Templeton said he was hopeful that he would be selected along with his good friend Marshall.
“Massive amounts of work have been done over the summer, starting with preseason in November, it is fairly demanding and the workload has been fairly high throughout with running and weights,” Templeton said.
“It would be amazing to make the Vic Country squad but it depends on this week’s game and keeping consistently from now on.”
