AN action packed two nights of speedway racing is set down for this weekend, as the season at Hamilton’s Western Speedway draws to a close.
While earlier in the year, the Hamilton club was forced to cancel meetings due to a lack of nominations, something that has plagued several other tracks at times this season.
This weekend has no such problems with an abundance of nominations for the SRE Race Engines Victorian Street Stock Championship.
The racing is set down to commence at 4.30pm tomorrow, following an Anzac address by a representative of the RSL, which is scheduled for 4.15pm.
Two of the nominated drivers have received permission from Anzac House to have their cars painted in camouflage colours, using the battalion markings from their relatives, who served during the war, along with the Anzac insignia, as part of the livery of their race car as a way to honour and draw attention to their Anzac heritage.
