TRADITION and respect were abundant on Friday as the Casterton community once again gathered to remember and honour our country’s servicemen and women.
The Casterton RSL sub-branch marked the day with the annual wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial involving the Glenelg Shire, the fire brigade, school children, scouts and ex-service personnel.
Each year Australians pause to reflect on the service of our armed forces; to remember their courage, service and sacrifice and we proudly acknowledge the history of the ANZAC spirit.
A highlight of the wreath-laying ceremony was four generations of the Buckle and Robinson families laying the wreaths.
Murray Robinson was joined by his son, Alan, grandson, Fabian and two great-grandchildren.
Reg Buckle had two uncles who served in WWI and were both killed in France.
