JAY Moody is likely to miss the remainder of the football season through injury in a cruel blow to Portland’s finals ambitions in the Hampden League.
Moody snapped the tendon of his little finger on his right hand rendering his ball skills ineffective for the remainder of the season.
He said the injury was sustained against Port Fairy earlier in the season.
“I hurt it three weeks ago, the tendon snapped from my pinky.
“I can’t do anything it has got no movement or feeling in it so I have to have surgery pretty soon,” Moody said.
A potential appearance late in the season is not beyond the realms of possibility with the injury likely to confine Moody to the sidelines for 8-12 weeks.
Much will be dependent upon how the rehabilitation process goes in determining if Moody can return in season 2014.
“Once I get the surgery I just need to get the strength back in my hand because I won’t be able to move freely.
