THE competitive and even nature of the 2014 Hampden Football Netball League season means every club must take its chances when they arise.
Hamilton Kangaroos senior playing coach Jarrod Holt knows it.
So when the Kangaroos “won ugly’ against Port Fairy in Sunday’s WorkSafe Game of the Month at Melville Oval, Holt was only too happy to put the premiership points in the bank.
A seven goal opening quarter evolved into a hard earned 10 point victory at the final siren, 9.13 (67) to 7.15 (57).
“It’s good to get the win … wins are tough to come by this year,” Holt told the Hamilton Spectator in his post match interview.
“From week to week no-one is a certainty against anyone.
“We’ll savour that.
“The boys held on in the end, which was good.
“Could have easily rolled over, I guess, knowing that we weren’t playing well.”
