JASON Harvey epitomises everything that is great about Australian Rules football.
As the new club games record holder for the newly merged Casterton-Sandford, his name will forever be mentioned alongside other club greats of the past and future.
The 36-year-old has surpassed the previous mark set by Tony Lithgow and now has 321 senior games under his belt.
Harvey described it as “unbelievable” to have gone past the mark set by someone who he rates as the best player he has seen at Casterton.
“I can remember as a little kid watching ‘Licka’,” Harvey told the Hamilton Spectator this week.
“I used to be up in the grandstand watching him every second Saturday at Casterton.
“He was an unbelievable footballer … the best footballer I’ve seen at Casterton.
“I feel a bit, if anything, a bit embarrassed going past him because he was an absolute gun.”
