PETER Knights held the audience in the palm of his hand … just as the Hawthorn great did throughout his illustrious and distinguished playing career.
Those at the WorkSafe Game of the Month official function on Sunday at Alexandra House savoured his every word.
It was as if we were transported back in time to the MCG where Knights regularly left the crowd spellbound with his aerial mastery.
The Hawthorn great was guest speaker at a luncheon as part of the WorkSafe Game of the Month festivities, which showcased the Hamilton Kangaroos and Port Fairy in football and netball.
The champion defender played 264 games with Hawthorn in a golden era for the club that yielded premierships in 1976, 1978 and 1983.
Knights addressed the invited guests and also spoke with the Hamilton Spectator.
