THREE local members of the Portland Bowling Club have being recognised for their tireless contribution when they were each awarded with life membership.
Ron Emmerson, Reg Cottier and Bill Sutterby each received the prestigious accolade after a combined 90 years of involvement at the club.
All three have regularly assisted with greens keeping, coaching and sponsorship toward the club, as well as playing regularly on the greens.
Sutterby served as club secretary for more than five years and also enjoyed a stint as club president for a further two.
He has regularly played in the Division one competition and coaches new players that arrive at the club.
Club chairperson Geoff Baulch commended his involvement at the club.
“(He has) an impeccable sense of etiquette and demeanour both on and off the green.”
