MOYSTON Willaura has made a great start to the 2014 MDNA A grade season, winning all three of its matches played so far.
In its match against SMW Rovers on Saturday, Moyston Willaura continued its winning streak with a 14 goal win.
The team played a tough fought match, which was a close affair up until half time with just two goals in it.
After half time the Pumas had a change in their goal circle where Georgie Eastick was brought on as goal attack, young Kira Stapleton was moved into wing defence and this made an immediate impact.
The Pumas put 10 goals on the board where the Rovers were left flat footed and could only net two goals for the quarter.
This momentum continued for Moyston Willaura for the fourth quarter and saw them win relatively easily in the end.
Talented goal shooter Zanetta Hosking converted beautifully for the Pumas to win best-on-court honours, along with Katy Jewell defending strongly all day for the winners.
Rovers’ Jacqui Bartram was named best for her shooting efforts, while Liz Williams, who played well in defence, was one of the team’s best players.
