GERRI Griffin managed to put one over the boys at the recent Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians tournament, scoring a stunning victory to win the Division Two trophy.
Griffin, who hails from the Hamilton North Rotary Club, was the only female golfer in the division up against a field of 30 men and she can now lay claim to having been the first and only woman to have won the coveted title.
Her triumph also added some local flavour to the event as only she and Ian Ferguson represented the locals against 100 Rotarian golfers from around the country.
The annual tournament is held in a different state each year and it was a great coup for the event to make its way to the Hamilton Golf Club.
It was a fine effort by the organisers just to get the tournament to Hamilton with just two players, but there were other Rotarians who supported their efforts and helped to organise the event.
