SIXTEEN years after walking through the doors of Good Shepherd Early Childhood Service, Heather Biddle is saying goodbye to the centre which has provided her with endless smiles.
Working in one of the busiest and most interesting jobs at the centre, as a breaks reliever, Ms Biddle said she was able to work in every room with every staff member and all the children.
“I liked being able to mix with everybody, everybody is friendly here and I love the children,” she said.
As a breaks reliever, Ms Biddle would look after rooms while others went on their coffee breaks and lunch breaks.
“It was a moving around job, every 10 minutes you would be somewhere else,” she said.
“The downside perhaps was that I didn’t belong to any particular room and so a lot of parents probably wondered where I was and what I did.”
When Ms Biddle first applied for the job she did not hear back for more than two months.
