THE countdown is for the Casterton Foodworks Cup on Sunday, May 25.
It is shaping up to be one of the biggest meetings the Casterton Racing Club has seen on the racing calendar for quite some time.
As well as the locally-sponsored main event, the Casterton Foodworks Cup, the club has also been fortunate to draw three jumps races.
The day kicks off with the McClure Earthmoving Hurdle followed by the Shojun Concrete Hurdle and later in the day the show-stopping Phil Pullen & Co and Casterton Agricultural Machinery Steeplechase.
“The steeplechase is always a crowd and industry favourite with Casterton boasting the largest live hedge steeplechase course in Australia,” club president, Bruce Miller said.
