IT was a great day for one Hamilton golfer when Helen Beattie scored what every golfer dreams of … a hole-in-one.
Playing in the Sunday competition, organised by what is known as the Sunday competition committee, Helen was joined in her group by Tania Cullinane and their husbands.
Approaching the 3rd hole in their round, the par 3, Helen decided to use her hybrid 6 and after hitting it very well watched it bounce just prior to the green and then roll up to the hole.
To her and the other players’ amazement, it rolled in for the ace that we all plan each time we tee off from a par 3.
After jumping for joy and settling back down to earth, Helen heard a comment come from husband John, who said ‘that those lessons I have been paying for have finally paid off.’
