THE Salvation Army is donating $1500 to the Hamilton Community Church’s No Cost Café to support the program that is helping people within the community.
No Cost Café has been running for about five years on Mondays and Fridays for lunch.
It is not only a place for people to go for a free meal; it is also a safe place for people to retreat to without judgement.
The Salvation Army Captain, Lynn Boughton said she suggested the Salvation Army make a generous donation to them to help them do what they do, which was reach out to people.
“There are not enough ministers to go around in the Salvos at the moment, we still want to be a part of the community and help people within the community as that is what we do,” Mrs Boughton said.
Hamilton Community Church, Pastor Peter Fleming said the donation was much appreciated.
