IT was always going to be a fiercely contested contest on Saturday between Cavendish and Branxholme-Wallacedale.
Both teams stepped on the court desperate to take the premiership points.
There were fantastic contests all over the court.
Shannon Raymond and Jess Lovel had their hands full with young duo Mikayla Beavis and Megan O’Dowd, who combined well and made the most of goaling opportunities.
As did Tina Hammond and Jacki McKay against the experienced Cavendish duo of Britt Raymond and Sonia McKay, who moved well and showed good accuracy.
The game remained even in the first quarter as Cavendish took the lead 13-10.
