A LUNCH out with the family has come with a huge surprise for 14-year-old Krystal Brogan who was surprised by Make-A-Wish Australia’s Portland Branch yesterday.
Krystal, who has currently returned home to Portland after months of fighting a rare form of cancer in the Melbourne Royal Children’s Hospital, thought she was just headed out for a quiet lunch at the Royal Hotel, when she was surprised with a few extra special guests.
Before lunch could even be ordered, seven of the RAAF Roulettes stepped into the room to greet Krystal.
The enthusiastic pilots had flown in from Sale just to see Krystal as she had missed out on seeing them twice in the past due to being too unwell.
President of the Portland Make-A-Wish branch Gail Jaensch said she had made a phone call to the Roulette’s only last week, and said they had very kindly accepted the invitation as they were familiar with Krystal’s story.
“They had seen her pictures in the paper, and said they’d be happy to come down, it’s unbelievable really,” Ms Jaensch said.
