MACARTHUR Community Health celebrated the 25th Anniversary of National Volunteers Week.
Running from May 12 to 18, National Volunteers Week is the largest celebration of volunteers in Australia and is used to thank the 6 million volunteers around Australia who generously donate their time every day.
Having held an afternoon tea for their volunteers last Monday, volunteer co-ordinator, Patricia Purcell said the week is used to show their appreciation for the many people who volunteer their time around Macarthur and the wider district.
“We usually have a morning or afternoon tea for Volunteer Week in May, and then again on Volunteers Day in December, where we have a luncheon and say thank you again,” she said.
“It’s just our way of saying thankyou for all the work they do and how much we value what they’re doing.”
