GENNA Chanelle Hayes is perhaps best known for her roles as an actress.
But it’s her first directorial debut that’s capturing the attention of film buffs.
The former south-west woman is preparing for the premiere of her film Surviving Bug – written, directed and starred in by her.
And if that’s not enough, it was developed through One Love Films Bondi, the production company she founded.
Genna’s family moved onto their sheep property when she was just six weeks old.
After finishing high school at Baimbridge College she leapt at the chance to travel and work overseas, heading to the United States.
She worked on several short films overseas and while travelling discovered a passion for raising awareness of critical human rights issues.
So she sought a way to combine this passion with her love for acting and storytelling.
