IF unconventional gas mining is allowed to proceed locally and throughout the state it would be the beginning of the end of Victoria, said Gas Free Field Free Glenelg coordinator Paul Wizard.
He said “then the state will be headed the way of Queensland and New South Wales.
“We no longer live in a democracy and haven’t done so for 10 years or more.
“We’re now living in a ‘corporacy’, where big business calls the shots and government just pretends to represent the people,” he said.
Mr Wizard said he found it difficult to understand “why they’re [the State Government] giving these guys a look in at all.”
“But then I guess it’s just all about money – it’s total hypocrisy – this was once a great country.
