SOUTHERN Grampians Shire Council has voted to endorse a ‘Grampians Peaks Trail’ draft master plan that calls for a “world class” 138-kilometre walking trail through the mountain range.
The draft plan anticipates the trail could generate 32,000 visitor nights in the region in 2015, rising to 80,000 by 2025.
Hikers would have the option of completing the entire length in an estimated 14 days or choose day or multi-day sections.
