FISHERIES Victoria officers in Portland have a new patrol boat.
The $304,000 vessel known as Doris will be used by officers for patrols in waters from Yambuk to the South Australian border to undertake inspections on recreational and commercial fishing boats.
It replaces the previous patrol boat which was 20 years old and smaller.
The eight-metre rigid inflatable boat is powered by twin 200 horsepower engines and is fitted with a pot hauler for inspections of commercial lobster pots.
