WANNON MP Dan Tehan has laughed off attempts by a former Rudd Government Agriculture Minister to pin down the Coalition on fuel excise increases in the budget.
Hunter MP Joel Fitzgibbon claimed the National Party had been tricked into supporting a fuel tax it had always opposed by a fake Liberal threat to cut diesel rebates.
Mr Tehan returned fire by saying the spectacle of Labor launching a “Country Caucus” in 2014 proved the party just realised that country areas existed.
