COLERAINE’S 66 point win over Heathmere, in combination with losses to both Tyrendarra and Cavendish on the weekend, has given the Maroons a vital 10 point cushion inside the five, with a series of “mini wars” taking place right throughout the ladder.
Dartmoor and Heywood are a win apart in the fight for the minor premiership, Westerns and the Maroons are 10 points back, but separated by just two points for the last double chance slot, while Tyrendarra and Cavendish seem destined now to fight it out for the one remaining spot for this years finals.
There are still eight games to go before finals, but unless a team either finds or dramatically loses form in the next two months, it is hard to see those battles changing before season’s end.
