PREMIER Denis Napthine, flanked by Glenelg Shire Mayor John Northcott, on Friday morning opened Portland’s new $1.89 million four-lane boat ramp facility.
Mr Northcott said he was extremely proud to be mayor on such an auspicious day for Portland.
“This project has been on the drawing board for about three years now, so it’s a very proud moment to be here to officiate.
“From sheep farmer to mayor, well it’s simply an honour,” he said.
