IT was another bright and sunny winter’s day when Casterton-Sandford made the long trek over to Millicent to consolidate its place in the Western Border Football League final four.
In their previous encounter at the Saints’ home ground, the Cats clawed their way through to finish 11 points in front. This time their win was a much more comfortable and convincing victory with the final margin of 81 points a clear indication of the gap between the two sides.
It’s always an interesting game against Millicent, because it has its own style of bash and crash football, which is virtually unseen in any of the other Western Border football sides. The Saints consistently push the rules of the game to the limits, but are rarely penalised for it.
