THE Hamilton Base Hospital Op Shop has donated $25,000 to the Western District Health Service (WDHS) for the purchase of new state of the art medical equipment.
The tireless work of the shop’s 20 volunteers has led to the acquisition of a new surgical hovermatt and a day procedure chair.
Used to safely transfer heavier patients from a trolley bed to an operating table, the hovermatt is placed underneath patients and then inflated to easily slide them onto an adjacent bed.
