IT’S been nothing short of rewards for long time Scout volunteer Laurel Selwood who has now earned one of the highest accolades in Scouting, the Silver Wattle award.
The award is only given to adult members who have achieved at least 10 years of outstanding service to the Scout Association, a feat Ms Selwood is proud to have achieved as the now District Commissioner of the Glenelg River District.
Hailing from a Scout family, Ms Selwood said most of her family had been either a Scout or a Girl Guide growing up.
“I’ve always enjoyed it, and when my son started it up I was back into it again,” Ms Selwood said.
