PORTLAND’S fledgling push to establish itself as a design and manufacturing centre of excellence to build electricity generating ocean buoys is beginning to take flight.
In the wake of the collapse of the world’s largest wave-based electricity generating project, to be installed off Portland, the city’s businesses have taken the hit and are now looking to the horizon.
The bid to build ocean buoys here is gathering momentum.
The best manner in which the proposal can move forwards is on the agenda for Portland MADE’s next meeting on August 18.
