HAMILTON has moved closer to a new 24-hour petrol station complex on Portland Rd after Southern Grampians Shire Council started a process to improve the proposed site’s vehicle access.
The council voted on Wednesday to give public notice of its intention to close part of the government road reserve north-east of Henderson St and Lodge Rd turnoffs.
Shire services director Bronwyn Herbert told councillors that a range of potential issues had been considered before moving forward with the closure process, including making sure no property would be ‘landlocked’.
