NOSKE Logistics is in the running for an Australian Freight Industry Award.
The company has developed a new “intermodal log container” for use in harvesting and transporting forest logs.
The container, which is caged at either end to stop logs slipping or rolling, was patented worldwide on December 4 last year and can be rapidly deployed from trailing a truck onto a rail carriage.
In the past month it has been trialled hauling blue gum logs out of the Dartmoor region to the Geelong port.
