MORE than $900,00 will be spent on Portland Airport lighting to bring it into line with Civil of Aviation Safety Authority guidelines declaring what is safe.
The news came as Premier Denis Napthine visited his home electorate on Friday.
PortlandAirport’s state of disrepair came to light when the Glenelg Shire highlighted its funding priorities in a landmark document presented to the premier in July.
Inspecting the tarmac on Friday, Dr Napthine announced $691,500 State Government funding for the upgrades, in addition to $231,000 from the Glenelg Shire.
