PORTLAND’S under 18.5s side has raced out of the blocks on the way to a 14-point win against North Warrnambool Eagles in the Hampden Football League Qualifying Final.
The Tigers opened up a five goal lead at quarter time in the first of three matches played for the day at Warrnambool’s Friendly Societies Park on Saturday.
Under 18.5s Tigers assistant coach Charlie Woodford said the players were eager to start well against the Eagles.
“The boys were really keen to make a good start and set a real precedent for themselves,” he said.
