Mail delays a sticking point

Ross Moir  |  MAIL delays are reportedly occurring almost eight months after mail sorting was shifted from the Portland post office to Geelong. The official position is there are no delays with mail posted in Portland. According to Australia Post media and communications manager Mel Ward, since the middle of 2011 all mail posted in Portland is processed at the North Geelong Delivery Centre using a specialised sorting machine.
