THE Portland Chickenfeed store could possibly be re-branded as Crazy Clark’s, or may even face closure over the coming weeks. The uncertain future of the Chickenfeed store has come about after the discount retailer’s parent company, Retail Adventures Proprietary Limited, recently went into voluntary administration. Retail Adventures is the country’s largest trader of discount variety brands including Chickenfeed, Go-Lo, Sam’s Warehouse, Crazy Clark’s stores. Retail Adventures chief operating officer Penny Moss said 29 of the discount variety brand stores had already closed acrossTasmania,New South WalesandVictoria. Ms Moss said another 57 Chickenfeed and Go-Lo stores would be re-branded as Crazy Clark’s stores in the coming weeks. In total 238 stores and 5000 full time staff, which represents 80 per cent of the business, will continue under the Sam’s Warehouse and Crazy Clark’s brands. Read more in Friday’s Portland Observer.
