Basketball association is reaching for new heights
LAST weekend marked not only the commencement of the representative season for Portland Basketball Association with the jersey presentation to junior Portland Coasters teams, but also the launch of a member engagement campaign to ‘Make your PBA even greater by 2020’.
With more than 361 registered junior members and 347 registered senior members, the PBA board and administration are seeking to celebrate the achievements of the PBA and garner support to provide input on how the PBA can continue to grow its success as a regional basketball association.
At 4pm on Sunday more than 120 junior players gathered together with their parents and past and present players to mark the occasion and launch their Coasters campaign for the 2017-18 season.
PBA president Josh Nash believes the association is heading in the right direction.
“The PBA has a tremendous history and we only have to look to our junior talent that excelled in country state championships last year and BVC (Basketball Victoria Country) junior development programs, to see that we have a bright and exciting future,” Nash said.
