Speculation ends as Hawker steps down
LOCAL football’s worst kept secret that South West District Football Netball League president Chrissy Hawker would resign at season’s end has now been confirmed.
Speculation regarding the experienced administrator’s tenure had been circling for months.
The resignation comes after 17 years of service for the South West league, standing as the president this season after successfully fulfilling the role of football administrator for 16 years before that.
Hawker has been a doyen in her field and has been at the forefront transforming what was once known as a ‘thug’s’ league to what now can be regarded a ‘family friendly’ league.
