$14 million contract awarded Mibus Bros
PORTLAND-BASED civil contracting firm Mibus Bros (Aust.) Pty Ltd has won a $14 million contract to repair roads in the Southern Grampians Shire.
The contract was awarded by the Southern Grampians Shire Council on Wednesday, where councillors voted to go against staff recommendation and award the contract to a regional business.
A report to council, in respect of restoration works for roads affected by the weather events of September and October last year, advised that four tenders had been received for repair works, to be claimed under the National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
Mibus Bros general manager John Weichert said he was “exceedingly pleased” that SGSC had shown confidence in the Portland company.
“We’re delighted and looking forward to contributing to what is obviously a key part of the flood recovery works within the Hamilton region,” Mr Weichert said.
