Dynamic Colts demolish South and claim valuable first innings points
PORTLAND Colts has romped away to a stunning first-innings victory against South Portland in the Portland and District Cricket Association A grade two-day clash at Henty Park on Saturday.
After registering 8-281 on day one of the match, with Glenn Hollis scoring a ton, Colts backed it up with the ball, dismissing South for just 57 runs in 30 overs to take first innings points.
Colts weren’t done however, forcing South into the follow on and proceeding to take another seven wickets for 54 runs to fall just short of an outright win.
Tyler Boots top scored for South in the first innings with 13 runs, while Will Kerrins scored 19 (from 76 balls) in the second.
Dylan Barr was the pick of the bowlers across the day, taking three wickets in each innings, with Syd Ray, Marcus Bunney and captain Daniel Kinghorn each claiming three across the day.
