Ambulance Vic fined over Heywood death
AMBULANCE Victoria has been convicted and fined $400,000 following the death of one of its paramedics in Heywood in January 2015.
The huge penalty was handed down in Warrrnambool on Thursday.
The Victorian WorkCover Authority (WorkSafe) prosecuted the matter before Magistrate Cynthia Toose in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court last month after paramedic with 30 years of experience, Clive Hawkes, died at the Heywood Ambulance Station.
