Country kids ready to wow thousands in Melbourne
FIFTEEN pupils from Portland North Primary School are set to perform in front of thousands of spectators this weekend as they take part in the 2018 Victorian State Schools Spectacular.
The Grade 4, 5, and 6 pupils will join 1125 young dancers from more than 200 Victorian State schools across two massive shows on Saturday at Melbourne Arena (formerly known as Hisense Arena).
It has been a huge commitment for the group, having practiced their seven routines up to three times a week since the start of the school year.
While some of the pupils in the group are seasoned dancers, others, such as Ceejay Durbidge and Noah Board, both 11, are gracing the stage for the first time.
“I’ve learned that dancing is tiring,” Ceejay said.
“But I’ve really enjoyed the song choice – the music is really good.”
“Dancing is difficult, like, keeping in time is hard,” Noah added.
“But I’m enjoying the opportunity to dance.”
