Semi-final time at Hanlon Park
ALL eyes will be on the Portland Football Netball Club tomorrow when it hosts the Hampden Football Netball League second semi-final at Hanlon Park.
This year is the second in a row Portland has hosted the semi-final, after last year breaking a eight-year hosting drought dating back to 2009, when the club was part of the Western Border league.
The final is sure to draw a big crowd, with grand final spots on the line for all clubs participating, with the senior football clash between Koroit and Camperdown, as well as the Open grade netball game between Cobden and Koroit the feature matches.
Portland committee member Michael Carr said the club is looking forward to hosting again.
“It’s fantastic for the club and for the town and it just goes to show we’ve got the best facilities in the league.
“The ground is in fantastic condition and the addition of the netball change rooms has been a big plus,” Carr said.
