Tiger Cubs and Roos battle for survival
TWO rivals go head-to-head in the Hampden Football League first semifinal with Portland taking on Hamilton Kangaroos with the loser facing elimination from the finals series.
The two sides will clash at DC Farren Oval in Mortlake on Sunday, with the chance to move into the preliminary final on the line.
Portland comes into the game off of a strong win against Cobden in the elimination final, while Hamilton was accounted for by Koroit in the qualifying final.
Tigers’ coach Tony Jackson said his side is feeling good going into the game, but are wary of a side that’s had its numbers so far this year.
“We’re pretty confident, but we’re mindful of the fact that we haven’t beaten Hamilton yet and they’re the only team we haven’t been able to beat during the year,” Jackson said.
