NDIS rollout a ‘blessing’
AFTER so much uncertainty surrounding the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), the success stories are beginning to make themselves known.
October marked 12 months since the NDIS was implemented in the Wimmera South West, revolutionising the way more than 2000 of the region’s residents with a disability access care and support services.
Hamilton’s Meg Lewis has blossomed under the new system.
“I think it’s the best thing that has happened to Meg for a long time,” her mother, Joan told The Spectator.
For 36-year-old Meg, the NDIS has made it easier to achieve her goal of living independently, allowing her to have regular access to the help of support workers and a private tutor.
