JUNIOR CHANGES ON RADAR
A POSSIBLE merger between the Mininera and District Football League junior competition and the Hamilton Kangaroos Junior Football Association could be in the works to boost junior numbers going forward.
The idea was floated during the 2018 season with an eye to possibly introducing the changes ready for the upcoming season, but it is unlikely to happen before 2020.
The Mininera league has had issues with junior numbers in recent seasons and reached out to Andrew Brown and John Pepper from the Kangaroos about a possible merger of the two under-16 competitions.
Mininera league chairman John Box said it was still a work in progress, but both sides were open to discussions about the idea.
