Drumborg rivals fight for grand final spot
THE Surry District Tennis Association preliminary finals take place tomorrow with cross court rivals Drumborg Cats and Drumborg Pies fighting for a spot in the grand final.
Neither team will have a home court advantage with the game beginning at 1.30pm at Drumborg.
It is two wins apiece for both Drumborg sides so far this season with the Cats taking home the last two wins, including a dominant victory in their round 12 contest, 6-49 to 0-24.
Both teams are boasting impressive line ups with two full strength sides yet to face off this season.
The Cats are coming into form in the second half of the season with Kylie Rogers managing an injury in the early stages of the year.
With Rogers close to full strength and combining with Amy Walsh they have proven to be one of the toughest women’s doubles combinations in the competition.
The Cats duo of the Mibus brothers, Aiden and Lyndon, will also be a formidable combination as they have dominated coming into the close of the season.
Drumborg Magpies are sporting a powerful line up of their own with Shawn Dalton and Jim McKenzie consolidating their play on the court.
They are likely to be joined by Chelsea Jeal and Jordan Meade who have also been performing strongly.
